I hope this blog finds you well and happy.
Last weekend we visited the Big Island of Hawaii and LOVED it! The weather was not great, in fact we hit some rather violent turbulence flying home (yay...NOT). Aside from the turbulence, the bad weather didn't seem to matter. The trip was dreamy. It was so fun to experience a place none of us had ever been and see incredible forces of nature such as the volcano, lava, steam vents and much more. The Big Island is so incredibly diverse. We saw snow atop Mauna Kea the same day we hiked through lava tubes and drove through endless roads of lava fields. I was truly surprised how much of the island is covered with lava. I knew there would be lots but this was way more than expected.
Our hotel was a steal of a deal and very deluxe - a welcome change:). Endless pools, waterslides, hot tubs, walkways, turtles, lagoons and for Natalie the best part was the tram rides to take you to and from different parts of the massive resort. We would definitely go back there (Hilton Waikoloa Village).
Next up...we are on the countdown for our wonderful friends Becky, Shane and Gavin to visit next month along with Becky's brother and his wife... so excited! If you are reading this Becky...prepare for some serious bonding time, sun, sand, fun and Banzai pipeline Sista! Can't wait to see Gavin and Natalie reunited:), wonder if they are going to just pick up where they left off or act shy at first??...
Aloha for now,
Lisa
